Cyber-Social Manipulation Identified in Chicken Supply Discourse

Crisis Management Centre has identified the existence of coordinated inauthentic behaviour (CIB) and brute force communications in the social media discourse on the chicken supply issue in Malaysia and selected Southeast Asian countries between 1 January and 21 July 2022. The latest Crisis Management Centre report titled ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes Through the Lens of Cyber-Social Manipulation – A Communication Analysis of the Chicken Supply Issue’ shed light on the depth and breadth of the evolution of social media manipulation. The research utilised advanced artificial intelligence (AI) coupled with an extensive benchmarking exercise. Conducted over six and a half months, it revealed that over 7,000 potential disingenuous accounts were deployed in social media discussions related to the Malaysian poultry industry. Budget 2022 Comments: Opportunity to build resilience in critical sectors

The upcoming budget represents an opportunity to build resilience in the critical sectors that will form the backbone of the country's future-facing economic ambitions. MGBF REPORT IDENTIFIES TEN AREAS FOR STRATEGIC GROWTH IN DIGITAL RESILIENCE

The Malaysia Global Business Forum (MGBF) has released a report following the roundtable on ‘Digital Resilience in the Corporate Sector’, which was recently held in Kuala Lumpur. In attendance as guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin. The report recommended several critical development streams. However, from the perspective of long-term digital sustainability, the roundtable highlighted that a pathway to success must include digital resilience and data literacy inculcated from early-stage education onwards.
